Frisco City Council
to Frisco Citizens:
Our legacy will be a Wal-Mart Supercenter in the heart of Frisco on a residential road
As many already know by the local news reports, our city council voted 5 - 0 in favor of Wal-Mart's SUPERCENTER development in the heart of Frisco.
Voting to support the project were Scott Johnson, Pat Fallon, Bob Allen,
David Prince and Bart Crowder; Jeff Cheney recused himself, and the mayor was not a voting member, although he made his strong support clear in his comments.
Many of us left the chambers very disappointed, and will spend some time reflecting on the experiences and lessons we've struggled through the past couple of months, with a crash course in just the last 10 days.
There is discussion now of whether legal avenues should be pursued. If you have any comments regarding this, please send them to:

Wal-Mart Elbows Its Way Into Space at P&Z Meeting
(We must push back!)
Chair Dave Wilcox
listens to citizen input.
He calls Comprehensive Plan
a "good idea" - likens to
other
good ideas no one buys.
He disappointingly ignores
residents and Comp Plan;
breaks tie vote to
allow
big box project.
City Council to take up the SUP next.
We will be there.
August 4.
